Dear Glenburnie Families,
Due to increased enrolment at Glenburnie, we are pleased to share that our school will be adding an additional class. This growth is a wonderful sign of the confidence families have in our school community and the strong reputation Glenburnie continues to build.
While this does mean we will be reorganizing classes, it is a very positive change for our students and staff. We know that reorganization can feel stressful for students who have already begun to settle into their classrooms. Please know that these decisions are never made lightly. Our staff carefully consider a number of factors when placing students to ensure classes are balanced and supportive of student learning and well-being.
Our new school organization will be as follows:
- JK/SK – Amy Ford
- SK/1 – Joclynn Irwin
- 2/3 – Amy Kervin
- 3/4 – Kelly Pare
- 5/6 – Vacancy
- 7/8 – Adam Spiers
We will be hiring a new teacher for the Grade 5/6 class. As soon as this position is filled, we will share that information with you.
For some students in SK and Grade 3, this reorganization means a change to a new class. Families of these students will receive a personal phone call from a staff member to inform them of the change and to answer any questions. We will do everything we can to make the transition smooth and positive for our students.
These changes will take effect on Monday, September 15.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we make this adjustment. Although change can be challenging, it also represents a wonderful opportunity for growth in our school. We are confident that our students will continue to thrive with the dedication and care of our staff.
